Mac users who choose to upgrade (or already have upgraded) to Mac OS Catalina (10.15.x) will need to uninstall all 3rd Party CAC enablers per https://militarycac.com/macuninstall.htm AND reenable the built in smart card ability (very bottom of macuninstall link above)
If you purchased your Mac with OS Catalina (10.15.x) already installed, you can skip the uninstall part above and follow the instructions below. Signing of PDFs should work in Mac OS Catalina (10.15.x) by adjusting these settings. All Mac users can now verify if their CAC is blocked by using the Apple authorized Smart Card Utility app https://apps.apple.com/us/app/smart-card-utility/id1444710309?mt=12ONLY works for Mac OS 10.14 and later using 64-bit processor Follow Tables 1 through 4 below:
PLEASE READ the preliminary Information before you start:
Preliminary Information 1: Restart your computer after installing the CAC enabler before trying to access the CAC enabled site
Preliminary Information 2: Installing multiple enabling programs will cause your system to NOT work. Here's how to uninstall CAC enablers.
Preliminary Information 3: The CACkey CAC enabler will ask for a 'keychain password' (like the image below). You need to enter your CAC PIN. Make sure if it asks for your Keychain password after you select your CAC certificate, that you use your CAC [6-8 digit / all number] PIN.
If you block your CAC, you'll have to visit an ID card office to get it unblocked. PKard has the capability to show you when your CAC is blocked. Mac OS 10.15.x and 10.14.x can download this app to verify if their card is blocked: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/smart-card-utility/id1444710309?mt=12
Table 1: See which CAC enabling program will work with your version of Mac OS
Once you've decided, go to Table 2
Note2:Need version 1.7 (or above)
Note3: Apple computers with Mac OS Catalina, Mojave, High Sierra, and Sierra have a 'built in Smart Card ability,' meaning 3rd party CAC enablers are no longer needed.
Note4: One person has informed me this works for him, but NOT when using Safari. Only using Chrome.
Note5: With Mac OS Sierra and High Sierra, you must use Google Chrome. Safari is not 'CAC compatible.' You may also update your computer to Mojave (or newer), then use Safari again.
Note6: Mac OS Catalina will not work with 3rd party CAC enablers installed. https://bananaever122.weebly.com/download-apt-command-on-mac.html. Please Read this article on Thursby's website about this. INFORMATION: There was an issue with 10.15.4. If this is the version you, please update to 10.15.5 or 10.16.6
Note7: I have a few reports that this enabler works with Mac OS Catalina
Table 2: Verify the CAC enabling program you selected above will work with your specific CAC.

Note2: Signing of PDFs on Mac OS Catalina (10.15.x), Mojave (10.14.x), High Sierra (10.13.x), & Sierra (10.12.x) can be corrected by following these settings. Some others have installed OpenSC and claim it works.
Note3: You can see if your CAC is blocked by downloading this app (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/smart-card-utility/id1444710309?mt=12) Mac OS native does not have this capability built in.
Table 4: Click link below for the CAC enabler you decided to use based on the criteria in tables 1-3 above
DO NOT INSTALL a CAC Enabler in Catalina (10.15.x), Mojave (10.14.x), High Sierra (10.13.x), or Sierra (10.12.x) as they all have a built in Smart Card ability. Download access 2016 for mac.

Utilizing your CAC on Windows 10 'can' be as easy as..
Installing the DoD Root certificates and making sure the Internet Options are set correctly.
However, computers don't always cooperate with us. So..
Mtg arena mac news. Here are my findings and solutions:
Information: Edge is the default web browser in Windows 10. Internet Explorer is on the computer and provides backwards compatibility for web pages that do not work with Edge.
My recommendation is to type: Internet Explorer into the Search the web and Windows/ I'm Cortana / Ask me anything (box) in the lower left corner of your screen. Once Internet Explorer appears, right click Internet Explorer and select Pin to taskbar.
Finding 1:You upgraded from Windows 8.1 and were using your CAC with little to no problems, and now you can't access CAC enabled sites. Keep reading for ideas to try:
Solution1 (built-In Smart Card Ability): Uninstall ActivClient 6.2.0.x or 7.0.1.x by 'Right Clicking' the Windows logo '4 squares' [in the lower left corner of your desktop], select Programs and Features (now called Apps and Features), find ActivClient in your list of programs and select Uninstall, restart your computer and try the sites again. It may work, if it doesn't, try next Solution. Dual persona (PIV) users might be able to access their email using the built in Smart Card Ability, your results may vary, if it doesn't read your PIV, you will need to follow Finding 1, Solutions 2 or 3 below.
Finding 1, Solution2 (ActivID): ActivID ActivClient 7.1.0.153 works great on Windows 10 computers and is available for Army users from links on the Army page. All other people will have to get it from you respective branch or purchase it to try it on your computer.
Finding 2. I can't access encrypted emails when using theEdge web browser
Solution 2: The Edge web browser does not support S/MIME. See my recommendation above to see how to use Internet Explorer to read and send your encrypted emails when using OWA / webmail.
Information (from Microsoft): To understand the problem with OWA, Edge, and S/MIME you need to know the OWA S/MIME is an Active-X control. By design Edge does not support Active-X (or Browser Helper Objects); this is good from a security perspective, but bad if you want to use OWA with Edge. Windows 10/Edge is a work in progress, Microsoft is planning to use other technologies to replace Active-X sometime in the future. In the meantime use Internet Explorer 11.
Finding 3.I can't sign PDFs (Portable Document Format) like I did in Windows 8.1
Solution 3:To digitally sign PDFs, you need to use Internet Explorer, NOT the Edge web browser, and have Adobe Reader set as the default PDF viewer. NO other PDF readers will allow digitally signing of forms. This should happen automatically when installing Adobe Reader. However, if it doesn't, here is how to change the default viewer:
Cac Enabler Program Windows 10
Type: 'default' into the Search the web and Windows/ I'm Cortana / Ask me anything (box) near the Windows logo at the bottom left of your screen.
Click: Default Programs at the top of the list.
Click: Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
Scroll down to .pdf, if it shows Adobe Acrobat Reader, it is set correctly, if it shows some other program, select .pdf and click the Change program. (button) in the upper right corner of the screen.

'Adobe Acrobat Reader' should be in the list of choices, select it and then OK
Finding 4.How do I get to Internet Options in Edge? I can't find it.

Finding 5.Cannot see / select the Authentication / PIV certificate in Windows 10
